Making yoghurt in an Easy yo but without using Easy yo sachets

Hello foodie MNetters. Ive got an easy yo which mostly sits in a cupboard. I hate how expensive (and tricky to obtain) the sachets are. Id love to make yoghurt in it using ingredients Ive bought separately but dont really know where to start.

What do I need to get? (Im in the UK)
Any great easy to follow videos on you tube you can reccomend?
Thankyou!

I haven't used an easy-yo, but when I had a yogurt maker, I used to put in a big tablespoon of live yogurt, and a litre of UHT milk. I can't remember how many hours it took. It usually worked OK.

I don't know why the sachets are so bloody expensive either. They'd sell so much more product if they were cheaper.

I use a litre pack of semi skimmed uht milk, a couple of large spoonfuls of full fat yoghurt and a 2 tbs of dried milk powder. Lovely thick yoghurt every time. Once you’ve made it a couple of times, you’ll be more confident tweaking it to make it the way you like. ☺️

Yep milk powder, live yoghurt and long life milk are the way to go! I have an easiyo! I must get it out

I just use yogurt-2 tbsp -and a litre of milk. No powdered milk. 8 hours in a Lakeland, so probably similar.

This is what I do.

All the yogurt maker (whatever type it is) is doing is keeping the milk warm until you have yogurt. When I had an airing cupboard, I used a casserole with a lid and it worked every time. Now I have the Lakeland yogurt maker. The Easiyo system is just a wide necked flask, isn't it? So long as the milk and starter are warm when they go in, it'll work.

This is what I do with my instant pot (11 hours and sieve it to make Greek).

I used to have and easy yo and bought the sachets in bulk from Lakeland.

I use an Instant Pot and I don't use sachets or anything. Milk, double cream, and starter yog.
