Not just a pizza in the oven, Ido that often enough, more like quick dinners using I dunno, microwave rice, frozen veg etc.

Mine is stir fry veg, whatever protein u have, in a pot with chicken stock soy and hoisin sauce, maybe noodles too, to make a healthy quick broth.

Any other ideas?

Pack of gnocci, tin of ratatouille (or make it fresh and freeze batches), some mushroom in an oven dish, top with cheese and in the oven for like 25-30 minutes with herbs.
we love it

I used to get gousto but can’t really afford it anymore, didn’t take me long to realise I could still pick what meals I wanted as the ingredients and cooking methods are listed, and I could buy the ingredients for a third of the price from the supermarket. Gousto has a ‘10 minute meals’ section that I usually base my whole shop on. This week I’ve done creamy pesto and chicken and spinach spaghetti, daal with herby kachunma with naan, coriander chicken with couscous and mint yogurt, steak with spicy rice and peri peri sauce, Thai style king prawn with squash noodles and halloumi and orange salad. All done in 10 minutes and sometimes less :)

Vegetarian Spanish omelette. Add other vegetables or even cheese to taste if you wish.

crispy Frozen shredded chicken do in air fryer, cook stir fry veg and sauce. Remove chicken and add to veg and mix. Have with rice or noodles. Sometimes do similar with Quorn nuggets but just serve with Chinese curry sauce/katsu sauce and micro rice m

Just raid Iceland Grin

I like their shredded chicken strips for anything really
In a wrap with sauce and salad
Add to a huge MN salad with Wagamama house dressing (my new fave)
Really lazy? Add them to frozen mash, frozen corn on the cob and fake KFC gravy Blush

Shop bought meatballs cooked in the air fryer or oven for 10 mins. Tin of taco beans in sauce, frozen onions, chilli, coriander, garlic and sliced peppers in a microwavable bowl. Top the meatballs with the bean mixture and serve with microwave rice or cous cous cooked with a stock cube

Jambalaya made with all frozen veg, sliced chicken and chorizo, tinned tomatoes and microwave rice.

Air fryer or traybaked fajitas , again making use of ready sliced protein and veg.

Sausage and mash using the Idaho instant mash which is surprisingly good. Serve with peas and gravy or baked beans.

FoodFann · 28/08/2023 21:30

Yajebbend · 28/08/2023 21:30

How on earth can you do it for a third of the price? Send me tips. I don’t think gusto is that bad, £52 for 16 meals and I don’t have to go shopping and buy loads of stuff I don’t need win win

Missingthegore · 29/08/2023 03:43

Sausage and broccoli pasta
Squeeze the Sausage out of the case and fry off with garlic and herbs of your choice I like chilli and fennel
Boil pasta and chuck broccoli florets and chopped up stalk in if using fresh
Drain, keep some pasta water
Add everything to your pan with some water and parmasan cheese.

Delish

Creamy Salmon Pasta is sooo good... takes about 10 mins:

Boil water put linguine in pan...

Chop onion & garlic (or use frozen pre chopped)
Chop a leek finely.
Fry in olive oil for a minute.

Add packet of those smoked salmon scraps. Stir in creme fraîche & mix into linguine
Top with parmesan & rocket.

If you're low carbing add spiralized courgette instead of pasta before the creme frîache.

Delicious!

HoliHormonalTigerLillyTheSecond · 29/08/2023 08:08

Prawn tortillas/burritos - nice with a crunchy green salad on the side...

Olive oil in frying pan
Add chopped onion/garlic/ red pepper

Add 2 teaspoons or however much you like of Mexican spice mix (pre bought or make your own with chilli/paprika/ cumin/ oregano/ onion powder/garlic powder/drizzle ed chipotle / salt/ pepper)
Add a teaspoon of bouillon.

When onions are soft add prawns & a tim of beans (black/ kidney/pinto/ aduki or whatever you like)
Cook for a couple of minutes.

Add 1/2 a cup of water and bring to the boil then turn down and cook for a couple of minutes.

Heat up a tortilla in another frying pan and cover with grated cheese so it melts... add the prawn mix/ avocado/ chopped corriander/ squeeze of lime/sour cream.

Then roll & munch!
Takes about 15 mins.

HoliHormonalTigerLillyTheSecond · 29/08/2023 08:10

You can also add those precooked refried beans in a tim to the prawn burrito if you like.

Or swap prawns out for chicken /port/halloumi etc....

I make my own version of carbonara that takes as long to make as the spaghetti does. Fry off panchetta, garlic, and shallots (sometimes mushrooms, too). Add a small bottle of white wine and reduce by half. Add a scoop of the pasta water and a tub of mascarpone. Drain off the pasta and mix together. Bloody lovely

BarrelOfOtters · 29/08/2023 08:35

Chicken thigh tray bakes….take 40 minutes but you can do something else while it’s cooking. Do extra roasted veg and mix through couscous next day and have with salmon.
