Just that really got 4 smallish portions of lasagne, would normally have salad and garlic bread and coleslaw. What can we have with the salad that is low calorie.

You could still have coleslaw, but make your own with a lighter dressing.
You could make your own chips using spray oil and have a small amount each.

Roasted veg

Roasted carrots or corn on the cob?

Italians don’t eat lasagne like that … it IS the entire meal. Do you really need something? Have a slightly larger portion of lasagne instead?

I've taken 4 portions out if the freezer and they are a bit small.

Well, salad is the obvious answer. Otherwise, either some steamed vege or some roasted asparagus.

French beans

Surely Italians would have had an antipasti and would go on to have their pain course?

I'd steam something like tenderstem broccoli to go with it.

We don't have anything other than salad. Lasagna is already a meal, just needs veg, and I like the cool crispness of salad next to the soft heat of lasagna.
Or coleslaw with lo cal dressing as mentioned.
