A way to zhuzh up green pesto with pasta?

I have some fresh pasta and green pesto - it's OK but missing something to really switch me on to it - it's a bit meh on it's own - I normally add pickled red jalapenos from a jar - Santa Maria are the best - I put them in salads, in omelettes, chilli con carnes etc - any suggestions for something to add to green pesto on pasta?

I'd roast some cherry tomatoes and add them with sone rocket or spinach and toasted pine nuts.

We have: often- handful of spinach or rocket and grated pecorino.
Sometimes green beans, sometimes courgette sautéed in garlic butter, sometimes bacon/pancetta/crispy fried Parma ham.
Always extra cheese though!

Pasta with pesto, green beans and pine nuts is lovely. Grated cheese or feta optional.

I peel it up with more of the original ingredients eg toasted pine nuts, good olive oil, pecorino, and basil and serve traditionally with green beans and some potato cubes cooked with the pasta.Sharpish tomato salad on the side.

We add chicken and sun dried tomatoes.

I sometimes add a soft boiled egg on top. Plus some chilli in oil and a splash of maggi, umami seasoning

MN has over-achieved with the response - I thought I might blanked on this - I don't think there's a suggestion I don't like. This changes things - my wife likes green pesto and I prefer red but now I have some options. Cheers.

@SeaToSki @KnickerlessParsons - I love to keep underused words alive - now make sure you go out into the world and use zhuzh at least once in the next week... - it's either use it or lose it.

Add fresh peas, spinach, Parmesan, garlic, crème fraiche amd a squeeze of
Lemon

Roasted cherry tomatoes and sliced mangetout

Try stirring through a spoonful of runny honey. Sounds weird but works a treat. Then top with chunky garlic breadcrumbs.

We usually have sausage, broccoli & pine nuts mixed with pesto pasta.
Or chicken, rocket & toms.

I roast sliced mushrooms and baby tomatoes in the oven, add to the pasta with a torn up Mozarella ball and some chilli flakes at the end.
