I've recommended this site on MN, because it's good.
Is anyone else a member?

I am. Love it.

@karmakameleon I thought there'd be more of us !
Reason I asked was to find out if anyone had Member Indexed a book, & how was it.
I'm thinking about it, but it seems a lot of work for no reward such as a free membership period.

I tried this years ago. There’s was a book I used a fair bit but wanted to use more and thought I’d give it a go at indexing it myself. I’ll admit it was a complete disaster.

If I remember correctly, I wasn’t allowed to index the one I wanted to start with as they recommend you index a short simple book first. I got through about five recipes before I decided to call it a day. It was all very complicated and time consuming, lots of rules to remember (all completely reasonable but took ages to get my head around) and basically I just gave up. Unless you have a lot of spare time and a real keen passion to become intimate with your cookery books I’d give it a miss.

@karmakameleon Thanks very much. I've had encouraging messages from eyb, but now I know the truth ! I'll just request indexing - I've got 3 best-sellers.

I have discovered that you can add personal recipes, using eyb indexing tools, that are fully searchable. I think I'll try that. In any book, there are always recipes that I'm never going to cook.

Thanks again.

Sounds sensible. I find that most of my books (unless really niche) are indexed eventually.
