Can anyone recommend one? Does a good one exist? Which flour is best?

Thank you!

I would also like to know this! Hope someone comes along…

Also interested! I'm trying to incorporate less UPF but daughter is wheat intolerant.

Are you looking for the best tasting bread, or the one that is easiest to wang together and reliably turns out decent bread?

FourTeaFallOut · 04/07/2023 13:50

If it's the latter...300mls milk, two medium eggs, 2tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, mix together and put into the bread pan.
Then add 450g Doves GF Bread flour, 2tbsp sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp xantham gum to the pan and mix it in.
When it's mixed add 2 tsp of quick acting yeast to the top. On my bread machine it's setting 10.

There are nicer ones that require a scavenger hunt for fancy ingredients. But if you have to turn out several loaves a week and only have 5 minutes - you can do worse than the above.

@FourTeaFallOut hit us with your absolute favourite gluten free bread recipe too please.

FourTeaFallOut · 04/07/2023 14:04

Sorry, I'm not use there, I jettisoned all those recipes once I'd found a way to get bread out for ds without having to hit Holland and Barratt for psyllium husk powder and whatnot.

Becky Excell has a lovely - not for the bread maker - recipe that I still have knocking around though, if that's of use.

That is fantastic, thank you so much!

Yes definitely the latter, something to chuck on quickly in the morning and get on with other things.

You are welcome. You can experiment with how much you put in of the vinegar (fluffier), xantham (less crumbly) and yeast, to get it how you like it but it should see you right until you have it nailed for you.

Does anyone have an AMAZING recipe even if it is ridiculously complicated? I’m trying to make some awesome GF bread as a gift for a friend and want it to knock her socks off. I have a bread maker.

@FourTeaFallOut - what model is your bread maker please?

Unexpecteddrivinginstructor · 04/07/2023 15:27

@RhubarbandCustardYummyYummy are you sure she will be happy with the risk of cross contamination from your bread maker?

RhubarbandCustardYummyYummy · 04/07/2023 15:32

@Unexpecteddrivinginstructor - yes

FourTeaFallOut · 04/07/2023 15:58

It's a Panasonic, I think there's a gf loaf setting on all the models across the brand.

RhubarbandCustardYummyYummy · 04/07/2023 17:20
