Victoria sponge in an air fryer

Can it be done?

I'm thinking I'd have to make a whole cake and slice it in half, because the air fryer isn't big enough for 2 cake tins simultaneously.

Or should I just fire up the Everhot for the weekend as the temperature is a bit cooler now?

I make cupcakes in the airfryer and they come out lovely better than the oven

I made it this morning.

It was fine, but underbaked - a bit raw on the bottom, rather than in the middle, so the skewer test didn't pick that up.

I'll know better next time.

I should think cupcake are easier as they are smaller. this was a 20cm sponge.

What temperature and for how long for the cupcakes? Did you put them in the little paper cases?

Can you please share how you do this?

I have made cupcakes in the air fryer - it’s a tefal one that looks like a mini oven and it has a cake setting.

I use silicon cupcake cases and stand them on the wire trays, 6 on each tray. I use a 100g butter/100g sugar/2 eggs/100g SR flour mixture which makes 12 cakes, and cook for 15 minutes on 160 on the cake setting. The cakes on the lower shelf might then need another minute or two.
