Have been looking at recipes for this and many say to soak dried chickpeas for 24 hours and then you grind them straight up without boiling. I always thought you had to boil them for an hour to remove toxins?

If you grind them up then you usually deep fry them, so they're getting cooked just not boiled. This method makes the best falafel by far

Soaked chick peas and fava bean mixture works best. I rarely fry food but think falafel need to be at least shallow fried

If you are following a traditional raw/soak recipe I agree frying is the way to go, to bake use pre cooked ones.
