Hubby states milk smells and tastes off. I've smelt it and drunk it and it seems fine ( BB date is 19/06). Has anyone got any ideas as to why this is?.

If it was the other way round I would suggest to take a pregnancy test 😅

Is your fridge at the correct temperature? Could it have been left out in the heat?

With a BB date that's not yet reached, it should be fine, as it probably should be for a good few days yet, but I can imagine that if it's been left out, or your fridge is too warm (or it could have been left at room temperature before you bought it) it could go off while it is still in date.

But it won't make anyone ill so if it tastes OK to you, there's nothing to stop you using it.

But obviously I can't say whether your DH has a more sensitive palette to you, or he's just being ridiculous, like many who thing they need to throw food away according to a very conservative BB date on the packaging, without thinking whether or not the food is still OK to use.

I’m super sensitive to off milk. Can smell it as soon as I open the bottle if it’s nearing the turn.

my mum, on the other hand, will taste milk and still not be sure until she pours it into her tea and it curdles 🤢

I should add, it’s only milk for me. I eat loads of stuff out of date if it smells and looks ok

It's not an exact science. The milk proteins don't turn on the dot of midnight.
Different people have different thresholds of acceptability when it comes to cheesy milk. Also depends what you've both eaten/drunk that day I suspect.
