Toddler lunch ideas

I met up with a couple of friends and they prepared a lunch for their daughter of pasta, sweetcorn and peas mixed with some Philadelphia. So quick and easy with veg in there too!

i really struggle to think of packed lunches for my toddler. We go out everyday so would love some ideas that are easy to make and take on the go.

Cold pesto pasta with peas or green beans

Onion bahji or vegetable samosa and naan (just a mini one in strips) with a yogurt based dip.

Pasty

Summer rolls with a dipping sauce

Cheese and onion or herb or apple scones

’kabab’ - pitta, salady bits, hummus with falafel, chicken or kofta. One of mine likes to stuff the pitta at the picnic to eat, the other has it all deconstructed.

Cheese and crackers

i put random veggies in as a side. Whatever is in the fridge really.

Also mine love the lunchboxes with the little compartments and you can just put lots of little bits in each section. I find it really easy to raid the fridge and use up all the bits of leftovers that aren’t really enough to do anything real with. So that might be some leftover pasta or a couple of new potatoes or a couple of spoons of cous cous salad or rice. Then some leftover chicken or a chunk of cheese or some smoked salmon or a boiled egg. A couple of sections of veggies, one of fruit and maybe a dip or a little treat. Job done in minutes and it looks like a balanced meal.
