Alternatives to roast chicken

I've got a whole chicken I was planning to do a midweek roast with tomorrow, but wondering if anyone has any alternatives that are kid friendly? It's winter and very cold and wet here so something warming would be great!

Poached, with rice cooked in the broth - Hainanese chicken rice

Cut into pieces and made into a braise or a tray bake

Cut into pieces and stewed with mushrooms and cream and carrots - chicken forestiere

Left whole and pot roasted with bacon and leeks

There is no alternative to roast chicken. It is the foid of the gods.
Also much more xhild friendly than anything in broth with rice!

Rub with curry paste and roast, loosely covered in foil for first 30-45 mins and cooked on chunks of carrots and cauliflower

Steve with naans and chutney

Or even serve

No idea what Steve has to do with it

Nigellas chicken in a pot with orzo

Tandoori chicken or peri peri with sweet potato wedges, halloumi etc. Sometimes we just have roast chicken and stuffing on crusty rolls with chips and gravg, not very healthy but definitely tasty 😂.
