Hello,

I’m new to the air fryer world and I’m hoping to get some healthy air greyer recipes. Had a look on BBC Good Food etc and it was all red meat heavy but I don’t like red meat and I have a two year old so hoping for stuff that’s tasty and a bit on the healthier side?

thank you!

You need Bored of Lunch. He's got a great Instagram account plus a book available for. Amazon for a tenner.

Try the manufacturer's website.

I've got an app "NutriU" that's very useful. It's from Phillips, but it will be relevant to other makes.

homemade KFC/Katsu chicken

chicken chopped into chunks/strips.
cornflakes bashed up to little bits.
if you’re doing KFC, add garlic granules, paprika to the cornflakes.
dip the chicken into an egg then into the cornflakes.
air fry for about 18 minutes.
for kfc, we have with corn on the cob and wedges.
for katsu chicken we use the mayflower curry sauce, stir fry veg and rice.

Tik tok potatoes
tinned potatoes, crush them up a bit.
mix cornflour and some spices together.
toss the potatoes in the mix.
air fry for about 15 minutes and they go lovely and crispy!

we cook most things in there rather than turning the oven on!

Halloumi
Grilled veg
Baked potato
Home made chicken nuggets
Corn on the cob
Roast chicken
Roast potatoes
Quiche

Anything you can do in the oven you can do in the airfryer (if it fits) in around 2/3 of the time.

With two of you, surely the best thing is just to benefit from the convenience and speed and cook the same things you'd usually cook but do it in the air fryer instead?

eg this week I am air frying some honey glazed carrots for a roasted carrot/rice/feta salad. Last night I air fried salmon pieces that I would previously have done in the oven.

I regularly do chicken nuggets/fish fingers/ sausages in mine when I have just one child to feed quickly.

Tomorrow I'll be roasting tomatoes and onions for lunch.

Here's something you might like - a quick and easy recipe for 4 banana muffins in the air fryer:

100g flour / flour combo (I usually do 60g regular flour, 20 g whole wheat flour and 20 grams oats but if you prefer a lighter, fluffier more cupcake-like muffin, stick with just the 100g of plain flour) and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
To this add: 1 egg, one smashed banana, 1 tablespoon of syrup.

mix it all together and put in silicone muffin cases or ramekins. I find it makes 3 muffins in ramekins or 4 muffins. 180 in the air fryer. If it's muffins, I'd do 11 minutes and 13 if it's 3. But you might want to experiment the first time to adjust for your air fryer.
