I'm sure someone has already asked but I'm looking for your ultimate brownie recipes please!

Too many end up being "nice" but not quite hitting the spot 😞

I'm looking for a recipe that gives a slight crust and lots of chew...

Please help me!

There's a recipe by a lady from bake off from yonks ago with nuts in but can be made without. My friend made them for me. They were delicious. The bbc good food were ok but very labour heavy. And ££ to make ! Let me try find the bake off recipe

I use the Gail's Bakery pecan brownie recipe. It's spot on compared to the shop version, easy and delicious!

The recipe explains that it is adding the sugar to warm ingredients that produces the fudgy texture do you must do that.

I really like a cheap and cheerful brownie mix but I've made these French ones which were amazing.

I'm a bit of a brownie connoisseur and have tried many of the recipes recommended above; Sally's baking addiction was my "go to" for the last couple of years. Its an easy, delicious recipe and the batter on its own is too damn good!

The recipe I've linked above is the BEST recipe I've ever done, though. It's a bit of a faff. Lots of multi tasking required or being super organised (which I'm not!) When I say the Brownies are better than store bought, It's the gospel truth. You get the papery crust on top, the chew is next level and they are super squidgy.

Store at room temperature in air tight tupperware to keep the squidge - they don't last long enough for it to be a concern!

(I could only find skimmed milk powder and it works fine)

Oops, didn't read the full thread but clearly I agree about the bbc recipe

I like the results of the bbc ones but they take me ages to make and seem to be very spendy by the time you've bought all the chocolate. Delicious though !

I’ve tried others but this is my go to recipe and is always perfect - with soft middle and papery crust on top.

Also they are brilliant to convert to gluten free because they only need 85g flour so I swap to GF flour for GF friends.

I millionth the bbc brownie recipe that’s our favourite. Doesn’t even last the night once cooked and I always make it double.

The key to all brownies is in the cooking. The specific recipe doesn't matter nearly as much as judging the cooking time correctly.

(I've made them GF before by substituting the flour for Doves GF and adding an extra egg)
