You know when you just can't resist a bargain ... have loads of Parma ham

That really should be used by today, according to the date from the deli. Can I freeze it?

I know I should resist these things, but I adore Parma ham, and it really was cheap!

Ooh yummy!

I'm not sure about freezing it - you may well just have to eat it all! I'm sure it would be ok tomorrow.

I have frozen Parma ham before as we usually get a huge pack of it from Costco

however, we usually cook it (ie wrapped round chicken breasts etc) so not sure if it would taste ok on salads or whatever

interleave with greaseproof and freeze. Should be fine. Eat as much as you can first tho!

I think that you could freeze it - normal ham freezes well. I would maybe try to separate the slices, assuming it's sliced, with greaseproof paper or similar - just in case it sticks together when defrosted.

Technically you can freeze it, but it isn't recomeended as it impairs both texture and flavour. But I would say it will probably be ok for a couple of days anyway.

Thanks! I'm tucking into just one or two slices now and will pop some into our soup tonight, and I'll put the rest in the freezer to cook with at a later date
