hi folks

basically that, someone at work today brought in a milk shake they had made with raspberries, protein powder and milk prior to coming in

I wondered if you did it with bananas do they go black or because they are in the milk they are okay

only to make it about 7am and drink about 12 and be kept in cool bag until then

I've never tried thus but I think the banana goes black because of exposure to the air. This wouldn't happen in a milk shake so I think it would be OK. I've made fruit salad where the banana was coated in orange juice and it doesn't go black.

I don't think it would go black considering that Strawberry and banana smoothies are never black.

It does go brownish.

If I make a strawberry and banana smoothie it will go brown after a few hours

It goes a little browner. I make whey protein, milk, banana and peanut butter smoothies the night before to take to work. Tastes fine.

I used to mash up banana and add it to porridge when DD was first weaning, and yes the leftovers would go a little browner. Not black, but the porridge would get darker.
