How many pizzas?

Snuzzle · 18/05/2023 16:26

DD is having some friends round for her birthday and I've said we'll have pizzas and hot dogs. There'll be 14 children between 7 and 13 and I'm just not sure how many pizzas to buy.
Also if anyone has any other suggestions for food I'd appreciate it

Hmm, maybe 5?

ConcernedMum22 · 18/05/2023 16:33

I'd probably say to coin t for half a pizza each at the very least? (But then I always make far too much 🙈)

ConcernedMum22 · 18/05/2023 16:33

*count

TheFlis12345 · 18/05/2023 16:41

What size pizza?

NCgoingdry · 18/05/2023 16:41

You're asking mumsnet. Majority of the responses will be "more than two slices and they are being greedy".

I would honesty get at least 7 pizzas (probably more to have a few spare) some halloumi fries, easily 20 hot dogs and buns plus then crisps/snacks/dips. I'd also consider a massive bag of nuggets or goujons to throw in the air fryer if they go at it like a plague of locusts.

fuzzwuss · 18/05/2023 16:44

How big are the pizzas? 5 really large family size ones would probably be enough, together with hot dogs, but not a pizza meant for one. Are you having cake/ muffins as well?

Snuzzle · 18/05/2023 16:47

I was planning on 10 inch pizzas and maybe a big bowl of fries or chicken goujons too
There'll be birthday cake and mini ice creams for afterwards

7 pizzas perhaps (half each), big bag of chicken nuggets/goujons, bag of fries some cheap tortilla chips and cheap dips. Easy peasy! 👍

ChickpeaPie · 18/05/2023 16:52

Agree with the others, half a pizza each, a hot dog each, plus crisps and dips etc

marshmallowsforbreakfast · 18/05/2023 17:04

Half a pizza each, hot dog each, 4 nuggets each plus crisps, dip and ice creams. Kids are like locusts and pizza is nice the next day!

Snuzzle · 18/05/2023 17:21

Great thank you everyone

I agree! Kids can get through a shed load of food at parties!

RagzRebooted · 18/05/2023 21:58

More than you think you'll need. Plus a few more.

caringcarer · 18/05/2023 22:04

7 pizzas.

caringcarer · 18/05/2023 22:06

Just seen only 10 inch pizzas. I'd go for 10 then. My 16 year old eats a whole pizza and he is slim and has been eating a whole one since he was 12.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 18/05/2023 22:22

Take away pizza's or are you doing your own? I'm just thinking about the logistics of getting all those pizzas in the oven! To be honest I'd probably sack off the hot dogs, they're a bit of an oddity with pizza, up the goujons and fries. If sausages are vital then a big bowl of cocktail sausages.

Snuzzle · 19/05/2023 07:14

Pizzas are being ordered so I don't have to worry about cooking them.
DD and her cousin asked for the hot dogs otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Think I'll do some chicken goujons and then tortilla chips and dips as well.

I’d say 10.

Redhairblackheart · 19/05/2023 07:17

Well if your my MIL, who has the appetite of a knat, and therefore so should everyone else...she'll put 1 pizza on for 4 adults and 2 kids. So two should be plenty😅😅😅

Casilero · 19/05/2023 07:19

Hot dogs and pizza go together just fine!

I'd go for more rather than less. If they're from a takeaway they'll be loads nicer than supermarket pizza and you can always eat the leftovers over the weekend. I'd also go for 10.

Caroparo52 · 06/11/2023 20:38

Truckloads.
And then some in freezer. Plus crisps cakes popcorn at the ready.
Keep an eye on how it goes down. Kids are like locusts. If not eaten at party then there in the larder for next time.
Nothing worse than a stingy party giver.
