Shepherds pie,def. Or spag bol

If so, shepherds pie:
defrost mince in microwave

peel potatoes, cut into small pieces, put onto boil
cut up onion and garlic, soften in oil
add mince and brown it
add tin of tomatoes if you have it, or squishy ones from fridge if you have them
add chunky veg
add stock made with stock cube if you want to
add worcestershire sauce
tomato puree

let it cook for 40 odd mins, til veg softened
then put into an oven proof dish
when potatoes are soft, mash them
add to top of stuff you've put in oven proof dish
grill
you can add cheese on top if you want

Twiglett · 18/02/2008 17:36

if you follow WWW's recipe but add the tin of baked beans to the mince before simmering it will taste really nice with little effort

TheWiltedRose · 18/02/2008 17:37

Do the LL thing (maybe not mince over the hotwater bowl) - fry the mincefrom froz. Add veg (froz or not), put in a ovenproof dish. Cook potatoes, don't bother peeling but cut off any green/sprouting bits), slice and layer on top. Bake until potaotes crisp.

Mercy · 18/02/2008 17:41

You could do rissoles and serve with mashed potato and veg.

I never add stock or water to spag bol or cottage pie btw.

sparkybabe · 18/02/2008 17:42

Don't use tomatoes unless you want a bolognaise sauce, rather than savoury mince. More british, doncha know.
