My standard go to sides are mash,l and peas/carrots.

But boring and dull but have a house of fussy eaters!

What else is plain and goes well with steak pie?

Just running out ideas for dinners.

We normally have our steak pie with....
Mash/ new potatoes/ chips and on the rare occasion waffles
With baked beans/ green beans & onion gravy/ ratatouille.

Make your mash a bit more interesting by swirling some whole grain mustard through it, or adding some finely chopped spring onion or chives, or stirring in some grated cheese.

I would have never considered baked beans with steak pie - interesting idea!

We do put cheese through or on our mash occasionally too.

This time of year - as many greens as you can handle! Spring greens for texture, asparagus for taste…

Traditionally we were brought up with pie, green beans, boiled pots and gravy. Infact id love to eat that right now 😋

Carrot and turnip? Mushy peas? Grilled mushroom and tomatoes?

Red cabbage is my absolute favourite, but I generally just have steak pie on New year's day.

At this time of year I would do baby new potatoes and asparagus.
Other options could be carrot and sweet potato mash and spinach.
Ring the changes on peas by doing them a la Francaise - poach in stock and a knob of butter together with chopped baby gem lettuce and chopped spring onions.
