Old El Paso Smoky BBQ Enchiladas (now discontinued)

Does anybody know what the 'Creamy Topping' white powdered sauce was that was included in the box, which you made up with (possibly) water/milk and then spread over the the enchiladas before putting the other half of the grated cheese on top?

I really miss this kit and I'm annoyed they don't sell it any more 😁 I've managed to separately buy the Old El Paso corn & wheat tortillas, and the Old El Paso smoky BBQ packet mix, however I've ended up buying Old El Paso soured cream and using that on top. It actually tasted really good, but I am still curious as to what the original white 'Creamy Topping' sauce was 🤔Anybody know?

I think its just powdered sour cream isn't it ? You could just buy a bechamel sauce in a packet . I've not made them since dc2 moved out as it was just 2 of us who likes them.

@Mrsjayy thanks for your reply. You might be right there, regarding it being powdered soured cream. I did think of using bechemel sauce but I've never been keen on it, so I think I'll stick with using the squirty soured cream from now on.

You should make them again though if you like them, even if it's only you now! I froze some of mine in portions - once I had reheated them, they tasted perfectly just like they used to😋

I have never made these but when I make my enchiladas I use cream cheese.
