Hello, can anyone help here please ? I’m not wanting to make it myself and I don’t like the ‘long life’ ones In the jar. Just looking for a tub like the fresh dips (soured cream etc) apparently Tesco sell it but no there are no reviews since 2019
i have access to all supermarkets except Morrisons
thanks in advance 🥒

Asda do a fresh pot - usually with the Indian ready meals for about 60p, it’s lovely!

Waitrose do a fresh tzatziki (refrigerated) which could be a good substitute for raita?

I know you are resisting making your own OP, but you really can make up a small/single portion in no time at all. I did it myself today for my little lunch. Homemade is so much fresher, yummier and healthier than bottled IMO. That said, there is a place for convenience food, so if you take that route I hope you find something decent!

@CorvusPurpureus yes that’s the sauce I mean, I just wanted to avoid buying yog etc and was hoping I could simply buy a ready made fresh tub in the supermarket. Thank you

Tesco creamfields plain yogurt - 45p
tesco mint sauce jar - 70p

the sauce will keep for months in the fridge. You could probably make 15 servings of raita with it.
The yogurt you can use the rest over the next 2-3 weeks (always has a long date on it) for many purposes.

this is surely less wasteful than small plastic pots?

I sprinkle some paprika on the top to make mine look fancy, but only if I already have it. A drop of
extra milk to loosen the yogurt if it’s thick.

I can't stop myself saying " Just make it yourself. It takes about a minute and you can have exactly the amount you want."

I just mix a bit of mint sauce from a jar into some plain yoghurt. Chop in a bit of cucumber if you're feeling fancy. No waste, the mint sauce can sit in the back of the fridge until next time.

Same! No waste.

CheeseLouisePlease · 26/04/2023 22:26

Yogurt and mint sauce here too. I eat plain yogurt so there’s no waste for me, you can buy individual sized pots.
No cucumber though as it is disgusting 😂

I buy Tzatziki instead, its so similar to raita and more readily available in the fridge of most supermarkets

Yes, Tzatziki, available everywhere especially in my lovely corner shop!
Or get a tub of Greek yogurt and add chopped cucumber/mint .
