Can I cook a mutton shoulder in the slow cooker from frozen?

Hello,

Was going to cook it in the instant pot but it's (the shoulder) a little too big for it so I just dressed it and put in on high in the slow cooker. Is that safe? I intend to "roast" it in the oven when it's done.

Thank you

As long as it is cooked through I think it will be fine.

Thank you. I ended up cooking it in a pot as I got paranoid.

I cooked a beef joint, from frozen to soft a few days ago in the slow cooker. It took an hour or so longer than usual but it was cooked perfectly and I shredded it with 2 forks for dinner

It is not best practice because the meat takes too long to get to a safe temperature. You will probably get away with it though.
