Hot party food meals

Hi,

we are having a party for the coronation and just wanted some hot food ideas. I’m going to have all the usual picky foods- sausage rolls etc but since this is going to be an all day event into the evening I want some hot food ideas that I can prepare day before and then just stick in the oven on the day. Family type dishes as there will be a fair few kids there ( some fussy)!
So things like lasagne, chilli, pasta bake…..has anyone got any good ideas or lovely recipes they would like to share?

Do the kids like kebabs? You could do a mix of kebabs with things like peppers, mushroom, onion and then either some chunks of meat or haloumi / paneer as a veggie alternative. Could marinate some of them in a curry paste or Cajun rub or leave them plain.

Would tacos work? Hot fillings (maybe slow cooked pork or beef), something bean based and salsas can all be made ahead of time. If you want guacamole that will have to be made on the day (unless you buy the packs of smashed avocado which I’d be tempted to do). Everyone can put together their own tacos and leave the parts they don’t like.

Especially if preparing beforehand I'd do something saucy - a curry or chilli, one pan lasagne or similar. Other stuff can dry out.

I'd definitely do something like pulled pork - make a whole load of coleslaw and provide buns for people to make their own sandwiches. As long as you keep it in a low oven, covered when not being served, it won't dry out.

Couple of big trays of chicken drumsticks, could add spices or just oil and salt. Serve with corn on the cob, coleslaw and salad.

Or a couple of trays of sausages and do hotdogs with fried onions

Macaroni cheese tends to go down well with less adventurous eaters.
