Ideas for wraps please?

Trying to think of new ideas for meals to make with wheat tortilla wraps, other than fajitas.

Suggestions for quick lunches or main meals that take a bit of prep/cooking equally welcome!

Quite simple but DD really likes them as toasted sandwiches. You need a flat plate sandwich toaster for this.

quesedillas, usually use ham, cheese, jalapeños and a bit of greenery…..
fish finger wraps with salsa and cheese and greenery
breaded chicken bits
breaded fish fillet

Quesadillas are easy and yummy! We have breaded chicken goujon and salad wraps quite a lot. also enchiladas and beef burritos are a nice change to fajitas.

Dd makes double layer pizzas and pizza wraps on the air fryer. There is also a way you can fold them that you can put them in a regular toaster. You can make tortillas chips with them and fill will chilli, bolognese, curry or whatever you fancy, fold in to a parcel and bake. Delicious hot it also cold in packed lunches

The last one is good for using up leftovers the next day too

Burritos! I use black beans cooked with smoked paprika, a packet of Mexican rice, some avocado plus cheese and soured cream. Wrap it all up, then you can wrap in foil and pop in the oven for ten minutes to get them nice and toasty. You could use any protein instead of beans if you want to make them meaty.

Chicken stir fried in a bit of soy, with a layer of hummus, is the food of the gods, especially when served with a few chips and a salad if you must.

Mmmmmm.

Burritos
Enchiladas
Quesadillas
Pizza crunch wrap

I make a kind of tortilla lasagna with layers of a spicy lentil/bean mixture and tomato sauce, as in sauce for pasta or pizza, not ketchup!

I suppose you could use tortillas for a regular lasagna instead of pasta sheets.

I still quite often have those wraps that were all the rage on TikTok a few years ago when you put something different into each quarter and fold up to grill. Cheese usually features in at least one of the quarters and then I just see what else is in the fridge!

Falafel, houmous and salad is also a standard lunch and Strong Roots make these lovely frozen veggie nuggets that are really good in a wrap with mayo, Sriacha and salad.

Pesto Mayo
Chicken
Spinach
Red pepper

Absolutely delicious

Peanut Butter and sliced banana. I like to go wild and add a bit of Branston pickle to that too.

I make a kind of sausage roll with them, came about in desperation in lock down when I had to utilise the contents of the freezer but were a hit. Basically you make up your filling, I use sausage meat, grated apple and caramelised onion chutney and use the wraps in place of pastry. I find if you sprinkle them in water and microwave for 20 seconds they are a lot more pliable and therefore wrapping the sausage meat a lot easier. Then just place seam down on a baking tray and egg wash as you would pastry and bake.

A type of breakfast burrito I guess - omelette with slices of fried chorizo rolled up in a wrap.

Depending on whether I have pittas or wraps at home, we like halloumi with chargrilled greens. When I cook the halloumi I season it with paprika and cumin and then add garlic, lemon juice and honey to the pan so there's a bit of a sauce.

I also sometimes do vaguely Philly-style steak in wraps or pittas - usually steak which I slice after itss rested, fried onions and mushrooms and some cream cheese mixed with mustard. A bit of wilted spinach can be nice to add a bit of greenery.

roughoption · 17/04/2023 15:34

Roast veg and feta!
Bbq chicken and sweetcorn
Chicken nuggets and salad

SpaceOP · 17/04/2023 15:43

Oh, and while I prefer this with pittas, I think it would work with wraps: roasted veg with hummus and whole roasted garlic. Delicious.
