Tuna with mashed avocado instead of mayo and salad

Beautifulsunflowers · 12/04/2023 22:20

Any veggie soups without potato as an ingredient

salads

leftover chilli with veg or last nights dinner if you’re doing low carb just make extra for the next day

Anything with egg? Avocado is great. Also things like coconut, chestnuts, some Ryvita are reasonably low carb. Nut butters. Big salads (I mix fresh and baked veggies) with seeds or nuts sprinkled on top, they can be very filling.

Oh also pasta made of chickpeas or edamame

I make really really think 2 egg omelettes in a large pan, cook them until just done - takes hardly any time - then use like a wrap for smoked salmon, avocado, salad….whatever really.

I also like sushi nori as a wrap for salmon and veg / salad.

Little gem lettuce wraps
Fill with tuna mayo or chicken and salad bits or bacon and avocado
Feta salad

Mayo isn't a carb lol.

Hard boiled eggs with a green salad
Ham and cheese plate with pickled veg and some low carb thin crackers
Green vegetable soup (above ground green veg with lots of herbs and spices - whatever you fancy really cooked in veg stock and blended)
Marmite chicken. Chicken drumsticks or thighs brushed with a mix of marmite and melted butter and then either roasted or air fried
Hummous with celery and pepper batons
Leftover things like homemade chicken curry, casserole egg reheated with a bag of steam fresh veg

Boiled egg or tuna wraps

I literally lived on chicken “Caesar” salad. Essentially it’s just any crispy lettuce, some left over chicken and a bit of bacon in the air fryer. Chuck over a bit of grated/ shaved cheese. I didn’t bother with dressing as the bacon and chicken are oily enough for me. Delicious and keeps you filled for ages.

Or sliced ham, lettuce, nuts and a pickle. Like a ploughman’s

Humous. With pepper and cucumber veg sticks .

Oooh! I love the thin omelettey wrap idea!

This is LOW carb rather than zero carb. I really missed texture when I began low carbing and found if I went above 15g the cravings came back.

For the crunch. Iceberg lettuce wrap for any filling.
Pringles ! IF you can limit them they average out 1g per crisp, I use them as a scoop for mayo mixes etc. I take all sorts of cold cut meats and make a pringle sandwich.

PERSONALLY my meal size is very small (female & sedentary work) and find the above is enough.

Cream crackers aveage 5g but if you have the will power the break them into 4 and use them as the same scoop they are good.

Fake sushi ! Cauliflower put through a ricer is great ! Fake sushi is great and with well spiced mince makes a great low carb curry.

Fritata is good. Obviously don't use potato but really good with roasted peppers, red onion, courgette and you can also include any meat or cheese you have.
I tend to stick mainly with soups and salads.
My favourite is chicken breast marinated in natural yoghurt and tandoori paste, with a salad made from mixed leaves, celery, red onion and cucumber drizzled with a dressing made from yoghurt and mint.
