The fruits of our labour, do they reap us the flavour?

Will you let a strong flavour become a thing of the past, just because we want it oh so very, very fast?

It was a sunny summer day on the train from Switzerland to Italy.
The sun ricocheted off the alps and into the eyes, it shone straight down from the bright heavenly blue skies.

The excitement I felt I could hardly contain, the land of the Romans, Gelato, Pizza and Wine.
My mind raced with visions, oh so sublime, for my body was engulfed in the warm Italian sunshine.

As the majestic view of lake Maggiore came into our sight, the feelings of a rich and elegant history shone oh so bright.
As my group took its first steps off of the train, all I could think of was Gelato again and again.

I searched for the best ice cream that money could buy and found a chain so delicious, oh my my my.
The flavours and textures delectable one would say, for what would I give to go back for one day.

The gelato and sorbet were all on my brain, caramel, coconut, apple it was all too insane.
I wish I could have shared it with you, these flavours were all but to name a few.

About 40 euros I spent on that day, sampling the flavours, oh so divine might I say.
The crisp apple sorbet was my favourite by far, at one point I had 5 scoops in a little white jar!

It might be 12 years now since I last visited Italy, but the flavours still coat my mind oh so readily.
The longing for flavours experienced before, how could one, say that they do not adore.

At home in the UK it pains me to say, the food has gotten blander each and every single day.
I miss the bold flavours we had back in our youth, for one day together we will bring back the truth.

Fast forward to today where strong flavours are missing and our wallets are hurting, we should stand hand in hand and start back asserting.
When we stand together we can end all the yearning, for when flavours were bold and incredibly inviting.

Have you noticed that flavour is lacking today, would you pay a bit more for a flavour experience that was here to stay???
