Freezing mince meat

Looking for some help with what is probably a very basic question. Can I freeze mince meat in the original packaging it came in from Sainsburys (the new style of packaging that is airtight) or do I have to transfer it to a freezer bag first? Thanks!

Original packaging is fine

Absolutely to freeze in original packaging, I do this all the time.

I use the original pack if it's 250g, but I open larger packs, wrap the portions in clingfilm then place in a ziplock bag or plastic container. both work well.
