OK, I've started getting an organic veg box delivered. Um, what do you do with chard?

treat it as you would cabbage

lovely just steamed or chopped up and stir fried

you can also add it to soups

oooo - swiss chard is REALLY nice if you chop it up into medium sized pieces and stir it into a mushroom risotto about five minutes before you dish it up.

that's my favourite way of serving it.

what to do with your chard

chard is lovely stir fried with garlic, onion, chilli, lemon.

It's the turnip-y type things which bemuse me in my veg box.

I used to hate swiss chard until I tried this recipe. Yum.

Sorry this is a bit late - the chard's probably out of season by now! I get a veg box and have always used chard in the same way I would spinach - just pull out the tough spines first before cooking. I generally use it in a spinach and ricotta cannelloni recipe and it's not really distinguishable from the spinach.
