Does anyone know how to make the delicious coating of Chinese smoked chicken?

It's not salt & pepper chicken.
Its a delicious sweet smoky slightly crispy coating on chicken strips, it usually has crunchy sugary bits too. Image attached.
Anyone have a tried and tested recipe please? Ty 🙂

You’ve got to try it. It’s called Shredded Smoked Chicken at my local, it is absolutely incredible especially dipped in satay sauce 🤤

Dont have a tried and tested recipe but tbh just googled 'shredded smoked chicken recipe' to see and looks easy enough.
I'd give it a go tbh, its not a million miles away from other chinese recipes I have tried from google and they have came out really well.

I haven't personally tried it because I didn't even know that the dish existed but this channel's recipes are generally very reliable.

They make the chicken separately and add the sauce.

So just follow the recipe for the chicken and ignore the sauce.

If I was cooking something like that (but I wouldn't be, cos I'm pescetarian), I would be going for smoked paprika, sugar, vinegar, salt, black pepper, red chilli and star anise.
