Microwave Rice Bleugh

I bought some pre-cooked microwave rice from Aldi to try out for fried rice. My god, it was terrible. The texture was way off, disintegrating, almost watery but not. Just horrible. It was like the rice idea had lost all connection to the reality of rice. Is there a good, pre-made rice to try?

Microwave steamer!!!
Add rice, cover with water plus a cm or so, cook 9 mins.

I have found my people! I hate the microwave rice it smells foosty.

I used to buy Sainsbury's/Tesco/Asda own brand which was ok but not the same as freshly cooked rice. I also tried a microwave rice cooker, but my ancient microwave turntable creaked and groaned like it was about to break after being subjected to the heat of it for so long.

Then I got a rice cooker. Best thing ever! I got the small Lakeland 1 to 2 portion one, but if I need to replace it I'll go for a larger one.

It’s bloody awful, isn’t it? Smells like the drawer in the old wardrobe. Crimes against rice.
