Boring (healthy) flapjacks - crumble, sweeten and rebake to make granola?!

I made a flapjack recipe using mashed banana and honey from BBC Good food and gosh they are dull and not sweet enough. It's like chewing through solid porridge.
I can't bear to throw them away but the kids won't eat them and it's not my sort of thing and can't even give them to the dog as not good for her so what to do? If crumble them (annoyingly, they are a good texture and not too crumbly, typical but I can break them up) and toss them with something sweet and sticky (honey? golden syrup? sugar?) and re-bake them will I have sort of granola clusters?
What think wise MN kitchen wizards?

I think they would easily do that.

You could always add any chopped or flaked nuts you like too for more texture.
