Hazelnut Coffee

Really like this. But. If I want proper coffee, I can buy it from Whittards, but maybe a little pricey. And I know I can buy a syrup, but ideally I would like to be able to get the flavouring without the sugar/additional sweetness. I thought about hazelnut flavouring, but apparently this is ok for cakes/baking, but is oil based and not suitable for drinks. Is there an answer to this, or am I just destined to have the occasional one from Whittards? TIA.

Hazelnut milk is good for coffee

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/03/2023 15:10

Gosh, I didn't think of that! And I've seen it about too. I'll give it a go, thanks.

Yep, I always have hazelnut milk with my coffee. I think it's lovely.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/03/2023 16:44

I'm having a 'duh' moment, as I actually sometimes buy almond milk, so a logical progression. Do you get it in Sainsburys or somewhere else?

Hazelnut skinny coffee syrup actually sounds exactly what your after. There's a couple of other brands too. They are cheapest at TX Maxx but if I can't get any there, search amazon zero calorie coffee syrup. They always have the above one, sometimes they have others too.

B&m have a travel version. Very occasionally they have a large hazelnut, usually its caramel.

Would a cheaper hazelnut coffee work? This is available at Waitrose and works out slightly cheaper than the Whittards one. There are probably other online companies who sell flavoured ground coffee or coffee beans too.

Does it actually make it taste sweet @Icedlatteplease ? It's not just about the calories, I prefer coffee not sweet iuswim.

I buy Caffeluxe ground from Amazon - it’s currently £15.99 for 3x250g bags, so a lot cheaper than Whittard.

Chelsea26 · 24/03/2023 17:35

I came on to recommend the Littles coffee @toastofthetown has linked to.

It’s lovely - I have jars at home, at work, at parents and MIL’s and I take it on holiday! They do it is Sainsbury’s too and you can get it in granules, ground and pods…

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/03/2023 17:37

Ooh, thanks everyone. I like a look in Waitrose. Will check out the Amazon and B & M options too.

Douwe Egberts used to make instant coffee granules that were hazelnut flavoured. I've still seen the Beanies one around but that tastes cheap and nasty.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 24/03/2023 18:11

I like the Little’s flavoured instant coffees. You should be able to find them in Waitrose

Monoprix · 24/03/2023 18:14

Could you put some melted Nutella in it? 😐

WeirdPookah · 24/03/2023 19:24

I like the Beanies hazelnut instant coffee (the only flavour I did like!) with oatmilk in, it's really good.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 25/03/2023 09:33

Thanks all. @Monoprix I fear the nutella might stick to my moustache! Grin
