Looked everywhere for toasted flaked almonds for a recipe but can only find flaked almonds. How do I toast them myself?

I put them in a dry pan and cook them over a low heat until they start to brown - be careful though as they can burn v quickly, so keep a close eye on them.

Agree. Put them in a dry frying pan.

Thank you for that advice

They go from pale nothing happening to burnt in seconds. You must watch them like a hawk. When they're brown enough for you put them on a place out of heat otherwise if you just switch the cooker off and leave them in the hot pan they will continue to cook and burn - ask me how I know! 😜

I do the same as above. Dry pan and watch like a hawk, shaking every 10 sec of so!

I did attempt to toast nut years ago under the grill, it can be done, but I got distracted and returned to a smoking, black mound! What ever method you use- stay there, and wait till they start browning, shake often, and take off just before you think they are all done- the pan will continue to brown them even though off the heat!

put them on a PLATE not place 🙄

Carefully.

I would put them in a low oven and go by smell. As soon as they smell done take out and move to a cold plate to stop further browning.

I find the hob method too risky.
