How long do you keep smoked salmon after opening packet?

I opened a packet of smoked salmon on Tuesday evening (bought on Monday), and meant to finish it yesterday, but forgot. Do you think it would still be ok today? Unfortunately I've thrown away the part of the packet that showed the use by date and how long it can be used for after opening.

Of course it will be fine!

I would eat today but not tomorrow

I just ate some today that I opened on Monday. It was fine. I do cover it with a piece of kitchen roll though as that seems to keep it fresher and stop it drying out.

It might not be as nice if it dries out a bit, but I'd expect it to still be fine over the weekend too.

I have a 22 year old DS, I wouldn’t know. Grin

I believe the phrase is inhaling food….

Yes, I definitely would because the smoking is kind of preserving isn’t it?

Sausagis · 02/03/2023 22:41

Personally, only a few minutes. Can't be too careful about these things. But you do you.

CornishGem1975 · 02/03/2023 22:51

If I opened it Monday then I wouldn't eat it past Wednesday. But that's my own preference!

That's what I thought.
