I’m open to anything if I’ve got the stuff in.
I don’t have any chocolate except a bar of posh choc orange.
I have all the usual basics plus cocoa, condensed and evap milk, yoghurt, jam, frozen berries, bananas etc.
Needs to be nut free

Fire away! What always goes down well in your house.

I make saffron cake. I also do strawberry and lemon loaf cake which is yum (with lemon drizzle too!)

Banana bread with choc chips
Banana bread with Blueberries

Yum!

I love a viennese whirl and do a variety of flavours. Vanilla and raspberry, lemon, almond and cherry.

Jam tarts!

Raspberry buns

@tothelefttotheleft I've no idea!
Will google.

Queen cakes (fairy cakes with raisins/currants in them), Google Nigella Lawson’s banana and chocolate loaf cake (not hers but a community one).

Fairy cake recipe but add lemon zest/juice to it… delicious.

@BaronessBomburst
A Victoria sandwich with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam is the best cake in the world.

It definitely is. You can keep your fancy smanchy although Coffee and Walnut is pretty close...

Lemon is acceptable too. Lemon curd, lemon buttercream, and drizzled with lemon icing. That was DS birthday cake this year, his choice. @Deathraystare

Coffee and walnut cake
Scones
Carrot cake
Oreo brownies
Bakewell tart

Sticky toffee tray bake. Although the recipe has been adapted here to muffins.
Also like Delia's Date, Apple and Walnut cake, but it's just as good without the walnuts. It also uses up my Bramley apple stocks. Its time my tree had a rest.

I made a grapefruit drizzle cake yesterday. Even allowing for my obsessive love of all things grapefruit, it's a damn fine cake. I'm going to do a blood orange cake next.

Also Murder cookies. No, really, that's their name, check Reddit. They're a soft, chewy, spicy cookie, particularly amazing when freshly baked. The DC go wild for them but I tell them they're called spiced cookies as I don't want to put them off.

Thinking I might make some Rick cakes and Viennese whirls🙂

BaronessBomburst · 04/03/2023 11:28

Oooh. Grapefruit drizzle sounds good! @ScrambledSmegs

It’s not cake/biscuit territory but we’re making a trifle today.

Orange jelly with mandarin segments. Italian sponge fingers. Custard. Blood orange and kumquat compote. Whipped cream.
