Any ideas?

I'm looking for quick, easy and hearty weekday dinner ideas for picky toddlers that take 20 minutes or less to prep, cook and serve after a late nursery pick up.

Landed on this thread in your search for toddler ready meals? Check out the new Little Explorers range, created by Iceland and Mumsnet.

Hope this helps! MNHQ

Quesedilla - dry frying pan, lay a wrap on it. Put grated cheese and whatever else they like onto half. Fold. Fry on both sides til toasted. Cut to strips. Serve some mashed avocado or hummus for dunking.

Omelette - serve with crudités

Alternatively, batch cook a spag bol, chilli or similar on a Sunday and freeze into portions.

Or even better- see if Nursery offer a late meal. Pay for that, then just do a bowl of porridge before bed.

Salmon, rice and a green veg (cheat and use microwave rice if you need to).

if I do a Sunday roast I’ll also roast extra root veg chopped into small chunks and use that plus leftover chicken/whatever as a meal.

Baked potato (half) and cheese/beans/slaw

Pesto pasta

Picky plate. Random food from the fridge. Generally I’ll include a carb (crackers or pitta is my go to), protein (boiled egg, cheese, hummus, sandwich type meat) and a couple of veggie options (tomato, cucumber, carrot sticks, sugar snap peas). Ok it’s not fancy but it covers the bases and generally they’ll eat it.

This is totally my type of cooking Grin

We do these:

Pasta or spaghetti:
With pesto
Plain with grated cheese
With jar tomato sauce, sweetcorn and cut up cooked sausage
With jar tomato sauce and frozen vegan "meatballs" (cooked in oven)
With leftover or slow cooker bolognese sauce

Microwave jacket potato (small/medium potato) with butter and:
Grated cheese
Baked beans
Tuna mayo
Corned beef
Cut up ham

Instant noodles drained of the salty stock or plain egg noodles with a splash of soy sauce, with grated carrot, sweetcorn, chopped ham.

Air fryer fish fingers/chicken nuggets and chips, waffles or smileys
Maybe with frozen veg too (I love the Bird's Eye microwave ones)

Ravioli from a tin, microwaved. If still young the Hipp baby ones are very good.
Ready made lasagne, also graduated from Hipp baby one.

Rice from rice cooker with slow-cooker/leftover curry, chilli etc, or just with veg stirred in.

Stir fry with pre-cut veg and pre-made sauce bought from supermarket.
