Working from home lunch ideas

I'm currently on maternity leave and my partner works from home, we always struggle with what to have for lunch and end up with a pasty or something similar.

Give me your best wfh lunch ideas that don't take ages to make!

I eat a lot of omelettes with mushrooms and cheese in, or ham and cheese.

Soup and cheese toastie

Leftovers from the night before

Fish finger wrap with salad / mayo in

Pot of hummus and things to dip in it

I'm not vegetarian but I do like the various frozen veggie burgers you can get. I quite often have two bean burgers and in last 5 mins in the oven I put a slice of cheese on top.

We do roasted tomatoes and onions with couscous and feta often (air fryer so it's pretty quick).

I buy those frozen itsu gyoza - sometimes we have them by themselves and sometimes I do with noodles and crunchy salad veg - spring onion, carrots, peppers etc.

Toasted sandwiches or if I'm feeling gourmet - Jamie Oliver's one pan recipe has a sort of bread cooked in a pan with toppings which we love.

Spaghetti with onion bacon and garlic or prawns in garlic butter.

Soup.

We have the same most days - roasted pepper and tomato soup followed by fruit. Love it. Some days we have leftovers. We make a loaf every day, and sometimes a sandwich or something on toast, but usually soup.

Summer, we have a salad with feta, seeds and nuts. Or tuna with red peppers. Or leftovers.

We have dinner between 6-7pm, so need something at lunchtime, but sitting around too much all day to be able to get away with too many calories.

Quick soup: egg noodles, stock, sliced ginger, chilli and spring onion. Done in 5 minutes.

Nobody said anything was wrong , why be rude?

sunseaandme · 13/02/2023 10:24

When I worked from home I would often have a panini (obviously you need a flat panini press for this). Usually with Brie and onion chutney, tuna and cheese, ham and chutney, cheese and tomato purée pizza style, whatever I had laying around really!

NotACodfish · 13/02/2023 10:39

Salmon and couscous
Chicken caesar salad
2 of my favourites. I usually make the salmon in the air fryer and make the couscous separately.

@SweetDehlia I was at rude at all .. just confused why everyone eats so much at lunchtime .

I barely eat breakfast so the thought of a meal at lunchtime and dinner is a bit alien to me .

That's all 🤷‍♀️

It's not really eating 'so much by asking for alternative options to mix it up .... OP didn't ask for 3 course options!

sorry but I think your food shaming now :)
