I’ve seen his meals recommended a few times so decided to try one as I get so fed up of cooking. Not the cheapest, but was cheaper with my Club Card.
I’m very impressed, much nicer than M&S meals. I never got the hype over M&S. So I’ll be buying more.

Well, yes, they're nice. Becuase they've very expensive and have about a million litres of fat. they're the kind of ready meals I'd buy if I was entertaining and didn't want to cook! Grin

CaptainMyCaptain · 08/02/2023 09:59

I've never had one because they are ridiculously expensive. I could make something like that for a fraction of the price. Even with a yellow sticker they are too expensive.

SuperGinger · 08/02/2023 10:13

They are OK but meat is not high welfare

CloudPop · 08/02/2023 10:32

The fish pie is excellent. We're having it tonight. But yes they are a bit on the pricey side

whizzpopping · 08/02/2023 10:38

Expensive and too rich/salty for my taste. But yes they are higher quality that most other ready meals. Which on the whole are pretty bad

oldwhyno · 08/02/2023 10:41

I’m a fan of the green curry. Takes a lot of effort for me to make one that good from scratch. And it’s way cheaper and better than a takeaway.

BarbaraofSeville · 08/02/2023 11:02

If you want Thai green curry, Mae Ploy pastes are very good. Plus block coconut as a cheap and flexible alternative to canned coconut milk.

You'd probably not miss fish sauce if you don't have any, but it all keeps forever in the fridge so worth the investment and it's very quick and easy, you can do the curry in the time it takes the rice to cook.

Pricey but ever so nice.
Rarely buy them these days.

claireymrsd · 08/02/2023 20:36

We've been really ill so I've bought several of these readymeals in the last two weeks to make dinners easier. Have really enjoyed them all - we've had chicken tikka masala, Thai red curry, Thai green curry, Spanish chicken with paprika potatoes and sweet potato & bean chilli (least favourite).

Ocado have had a special offer on with one readymeal for 2, plus a CB dessert for £10. The chocolate fondant was superb!

AdelaideRo · 08/02/2023 20:37

I buy them instead of a takeaway.

Often better than M&S Equivalent.

TelevisionIcon · 08/02/2023 20:44

I look out for them on special. Used to be they would go on offer for a fiver or something and now the offer price is 6.50, which is almost what the full price used to be! We really like the chicken tikka masala; its a quarter the price of a takeaway, serves the two of us with no wasted leftovers, and its got better seasoning than other ready meals. The desserts always seem to be on offer, or the single serving mac and cheese or lasagna.

We tried freezing one once and it didn't work so well so caution if you are thinking about stocking up.

Habreathmint · 08/02/2023 20:49

They're incredibly unhealthy. The fat content is horrific but they're middle class so that's OK on MN.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 08/02/2023 20:50

I didnt think much of the lasagne

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 08/02/2023 20:56

We love the lasagne, but my favourite is the fish pie, but they are prohibitively expensive so I haven't bought them in months. Used to buy them yellow stickered, but shop online these days so don't get the chance
