Does anyone have a good recipe for a thick creamy chicken tikka masala that they wouldn't mind sharing please?
I have tried several jar sauces and some made from scratch recipes I found on google but none of them turn out like the proper Indian takeaway curry's we like.
Or anything similar.... thanks

You won't get one like a restaurant/takeaway unless you use a base curry sauce. This is the recipe I use, I usually make my own base sauce using his recipe. But I recently purchased some of this from East at Home and its really good too for an easy alternative.

"The Curry Secret" by Kris Dhillon is your best bet.
Base sauce is not difficult, & freezes well.

The Hairy Bikers have a good recipe. We really rate their curries cook book.

This is east and delicious-
marinate chicken chunks in tikka masala paste with plain yogurt, garlic and lemon juice (leave for ideally more then 4 hours)
fry white onion with a table spoon of ginger and garlic paste, tablespoon tomato purée.
when onion is soft add 3 table spoons of tikka paste, a pint of chicken stock and simmer for a few mins.
Add 1 table spoon of ground almonds and blend.
add a good splash of double cream.
grill the chicken and add to the sauce.

I'm also looking for a really good chicken curry recipe that I can make the day before.
