Non nut replacement for pine nuts in Ottolenghi fish cakes

I would really like to make these Ottolenghi sweet spiced fish cakes , but due allergies need to sub out the nuts. Any suggestions for what to replace them with? I though perhaps toasted seeds of some description? Or it's only 30g so maybe I could leave them out all together?
Any ideas?

Sunflower seeds are an excellent pine nut substitute, especially for those with tree nut allergies. The shelled seed mimics pine nuts in shape and color. Sunflower seeds also offer a nutty flavor. This seed works well as a recipe replacement due to its shape and taste

I'm not entirely sure as pine nuts have a very lovely texture but maybe toasted/cooked they are pretty similar?

Despite the name, pine nuts are considered a seed not a nut and so don't fall into the nut allergy category (don't have to flagged as an allergen on pack for example). People can still be allergic to pine nuts, but might be worth checking. Sunflower seeds could be good substitute if needed, but I imagine the recipe would be fine it if were left out as there are a lot of other flavours there.

Thank you both. I think I'll give it a go with the sunflower seeds.
I can't believe I didn't know about pine nuts not being classed as nuts, that's handy to know, but I won't try it out without chatting it through with my guest/victim first!

Yes ask them, it may be fine. My child has peanut and tree nut allergies but no issue with pine nuts.
