I can't remember how my mum used to make a couple of really cheap but tasty meals, can anyone help?
Lancashire hotpot in a pressure cooker: it involved meat (Wilson's?) out of a tin, potato and tinned carrots and was served with onion rings (raw)in vinegar and copious slices of white bread
Middle Neck:
Lamb of some sort cooked with carrots and pearl barley and possibly small pieces of potato

Meat Pie
Home made pastry and the ubiquitous Wilson tinned meat

😍

Middle neck sounds like Irish stew - Delia Smith has a great recipe for that

This might work for the meat pie

I bet the lamb was scrag end. Google up recipes for that - it's a great stew cut (name just means neck).

Brilliant-thank you both 😁😊

Sadly lamb neck isn't cheap anymore.
