Knob of butter

How much is a knob of butter? About a teaspoon? 10g?

I think I do about the equivalent of a dessert spoon

I'd say a tablespoon ish, maybe 20g?

It seems very ish as a concept but I have a recipe that says to stir a knob of butter in it and it's annoying me.

I’d do a heaped tea spoon.

That seems a good compromise between tea spoon and desert spoon

I’d do enough to make it taste good. Which is probably more than whatever the official definition of a knob is!
