Cake tin size help.

I'm planning to make a cake that has two layers, like Victoria sponge cakes. I have one 8 inch sandwich tin. So one layer is fine. I also have a 8 inch deep cake tin.

My question is would it be ok to use the 8 inch deep tin for the other layer? Can't find the answer on the internet.

Thanks.

Yes.
Alternatively you can make one batch for bigger sponge and pour it into deeper tin, bake then cut.

You can either use the deep one, but find a recipe that is for one cake cut in half as it’ll need longer baking - or use the sandwich tin twice which will take longer as you’ll have to wait to bake the second one!

…I wouldn’t use both - as they will give differing results

Thanks for the replies and will definitely get another sandwich tin or put one in the oven after the first has cooked.
