Hi,

After advice please.

Froze some cooked Turkey after Christmas, defrosted today to make a curry. Defrosted way more than I need!

Can I make double the amount of curry and refreze?

Thanks

Technically no you can't refreeze now, but you could keep it in the fridge for 24 hours to eat cold, or keep in the fridge to reheat tomorrow (I think).

are you a chef scramble or someone in the know? I thought (perhaps incorrectly?) that you could refreeze as long as you had cooked it first. I confess i dont do this as I'm really really keen not to get food poisoning again (got it from a restaurant)

If your curry was properly cooked, I'd refreeze and have done similar before

No but I did a lot of research into it when making my own baby food with leftovers, wouldn't have been too bothered about myself but didn't want to harm my child.
Once it's been cooked it can be chilled or frozen. Then either defrosted and cooked or cooked from frozen. Shouldn't be chilled again then cooked for a third time. Degrades the meat and encourages bacteria I think.

Thank you all 😁.

I ended up binning all the left overs last night (a lot) sadly. Just didn’t want to risk it
