Instant pot steamer timings help!

I'm making a steamed chocolate pudding in the instant pot. It's a regular non instant pot recipe which says to steam for 1 1/4 hours. Are the timing the same for the steamer on this or do I reduce them as I would the air fryer function?

I would look up instapot recipes, I definitely think the timings should be reduced!

I would say knock it down to 45/50. You can always put it back in if it's not done.

Thanks. I checked it after about 40 mins and it was still quite liquid. So I put it back on for the full time and it came out like a piece of rubber. Reading around since, I think steaming with the vent open is more like conventional steaming. If the vent is closed it builds up pressure so will cook faster. I'm still getting my head round it all.

I would say OP maybe join some of the American Facebookgroups if you are on it, as theyseem to be cooking a LOT more with IP than in the UK. I found the communities very helpful. Mostly using mine for stews/currys etc, and not enough and never baked in them outside stuff like creme caramel that could not be bothered to do in the oven, so would be interested to see if people manage interesting bakes.
