Hello, i'd really like to learn how to cook Japanese food & wonder if anyone can recommend a fairly straightforward vegetarian cookbook?

I use JapanEasy by Tim Anderson & can recommend it.

Plenty of veggie recipes, & others that can be adapted to a restricted diet.

Great, thank you :) The name's familiar - was he a Masterchef or Bake Off contestant?

I like Everyday Harumi by Harumi Kurihara. Her saba soboro is absolutely delicious!

Ah bum, literally just saw your last sentence about vegetarian - plenty of veg in her books but not vegetarian per se.

No problem, thanks Chair :) Will take a look

MasterChef. He won about 10 years ago I think.

Vegan Japaneasy by Tim Anderson is fantastic

I came to recommend any of Tim Anderson's books- I believe there's a veg japaneasy

InsomniacVampire · 07/01/2023 20:12

I kind od disliked Tim Anderson's cookbooks, I found them very non substantial- loads of massive photographs and talking, but not that many actual recipes.

I did try and liked books by Harumi, they were easy to follow and had more content and were less 'me me me!" and more low key.

I use this site I’m not sure how much vegetarian recipes she has, I know there’s gyoza and rolled egg omelette though.
