Leftover sparkling wine

I never thought I'd have this problem...

I've got a bottle of sparkling wine here that I'm not going to drink. I don't like it after one glass.

Anything I could do with it other than pour it down the sink? 🥂

Put it in anything that you would use white wine in

I would probably toss though.

Make it into vinegar?

Billybagpuss · 31/12/2022 19:45

Mix it with orange juice

Poach nectarines or peaches in it (with a spoon of sugar or a splash of honey if it's too sharp).
It makes a lovely light dessert. The wine will pick up any colour from the fruit (peel after cooking) so you can make it into a syrup to drizzle over the fruit and ice cream.

It'll be fine for risottos and it won't matter if it goes flat.

Alwaysworryingoversomething · 01/01/2023 18:41

Thanks for all the suggestions. It's currently going flat in the fridge so will definitely use it for something.

Salad dressing maybe. Especially if is vinegar like

BamBamBilla · 01/01/2023 19:21

Use it as white wine in cooking.

AdaColeman · 01/01/2023 19:37

Use it to poach pears, add honey/sugar and some Christmas spices.

If you're making stock, add some wine to that.

TheDogsMother · 01/01/2023 19:43

What is leftover wine ? 🤣

If it tastes like vinegar just bite the bullet and throw it away - sometimes things are that bad they’re not worth saving

TheSandgroper · 02/01/2023 08:37

Freeze into ice cubes to throw into gravies, risottos or even salad dressing.

TheSandgroper · 02/01/2023 08:37

But if it tastes like vinegar, I’ll have it not go to waste. I love that stuff.
