NYE buffet ideas?

Hi all, looking for some inspiration please.

It will just be us, family of 5. Myself dp, dd16, dd11 and ds11.

I think I will do a buffet, nothing fancy or to time consuming. Was thinking along the lines of party food, no sandwiches or pastries.

Anyone have advice on supermarket party food that is good/bad, any ideas very welcome. My mind has gone blank!

Thanks, have you tried it? We don’t live anywhere near one so would be a trek out

Halloumi fries
Pizza slices
Garlic dough balls
Mini corn on the cob
Coleslaw
Mini stuffed potato skins
Mini beef sliders
Onion rings

I got most of the above from Asda.

They are great ideas, thank you!

Was there any party food you bought and didn’t like? I saw on another thread that Tesco food was horrible…, but Asda good

We didn’t get Asda own brand halloumi fires - I got Brewdog instead which were cheaper and had better ratings online.
Dough balls were Pizza Express.
These were the potato skins.
I made my own coleslaw. Onion rings weren’t from Asda, but I can’t remember where and burgers were Aldi groceries.aldi.co.uk/en-GB/p-specially-selected-mini-cheese-burgers-286g8-pack/4088600544328

quiche
pizza
chicken nuggets
sausage rolls
potato wedges
salad?
grapes/cherry tomatoes/cucumber sticks/carrot sticks
trifle or cheesevake

All from any supermarket

Would recommend the M&S curry naan bite things and the mini crumpets with ham. Their sliders were very average. My DCs love a mozzarella stick too.

If you want to cook, homemade sausage rolls are worth the effort. I finely dice and fry an onion and herbs to add to the sausage meat and buy ready rolled puff pastry.

Also Google star bread; really simple and effective to make with a bread mix or pizza base packets. You can layer them with cheese and tomato or bake around a camembert.

Traditionally in my neck of the woods, NYE is fondue or raclette.
You could go off piste and do a tartiflette with green salad and a chocolate fondue with fruits for pudding.

If you have leftover Christmas cake, pudding or panettone you could cut them up into cubes and use with a custardy, brandy or rum sauce to dip.
