Do all airfryers smoke?

At SILs and she has a ninja foodie 15 in 1.

The airfryer function is fast as anything, but smokes really badly and fills her large kitchen in no time.

Do they all smoke in use? I'm considering an airfryer but not if that's the norm. My smoke alarms are trigger happy.

No! Mine doesn't even steam....

Something wrong with hers or the element has burnt on food on?

Pretty sure they don't. Sounds like either there's something in there that shouldn't be or it's faulty. My basic airfryer smoked when I used parchment because I didn't realise how they worked.

Definitely not! Mine never does. It sounds as though something fatty has splashed onto the element, and that’s what’s smoking. Does she overload it?

My airfryer doesn’t smoke at all!

Mine only smokes when it’s not been washed out properly, if I’ve done something like sausages and then gone to do something else before washing the drawers

I have a Ninja 11 in 1. No smoke here. Is something stuck to the heating element perhaps?

I’ve had a tefal one and now have an instant pot. Neither produce smoke, barely even steam unless I use the quick release on the pressure cooker setting on my instant pot.

My cheapie Costco one does not smoke

It smokes when it needs a good clean.

It shouldn't smoke. Somethings wrong with hers or there is some old burnt food stuck somewhere.

Have had mine for five years, definitely never smoked.

Mine only smokes occasionally when cooking burgers.

I have a Ninja that's almost 5yrs old and it never smokes with either lid on.

My 6 year old Phillips has never smoked.

I have that same model and it has never smoked.

Thank you all! She'd done a large gammon in it so I'm guessing it was maybe too close to the ring and the fat was splashing.

Relieved to hear its not normal.
