Leftovers/reheating question

KateBalesCardi · 26/12/2022 21:11

I basically need to know if I make a pie with the leftover turkey can I cook it and then reheat the next day? DH thinks it will be fine but I thought you were only supposed to reheat cooked meat once. Settle the argument (and potentially save us from food poisoning!) please 🙏

Sounds to me like a reheat too many.

It will be fine

It will be fine, but couldn't you cook/eat it on the same day you make it? Or are you expecting left over pie?

No, there will be no leftover pie I'm sure Smile It really is too long a story as to why it can't be eaten on the day, or indeed made the day we actually want to eat it, but no it won't work. I'm annoyed now that so far I'm outnumbered in the replies, where are all the 'only reheat once' people?!

This is an interesting article, and states that generally, as long as you do it properly most food can be reheated safely several times (though I’d only reheat rice once to be on the safe side).
