Best things to take for New Year away

Some friends have rented a house for New Year. Don't want to spend ages cooking. What can I take that will serve 10 and is easily transported

Maybe in a slow cooker? Something to freeze which can defrost in the car?

This tagine is delicious and the pomegranate makes it that bit special. It works really well if you cook it in advance because the flavours develop, and it freezes well too. Serve with couscous (which takes next to no time) or flatbreads or both! I’ve served it with slow cooked pulled lamb shoulder for the carnivores!

Curry.on hob or butter chicken is great in slow cooker.
Cottage pie.
Mac and cheese
Mince base and then decide what to do it with once there.
Ingredients to assemble a pavlova or way in mess.

Where are you going?

5 large packets of tortilla chips, 3-4 cans of refried beans, a huge block or two of extra mature cheddar, with a few pots of sour cream and salsa. Can get all that into 2 bags for life.

These all look fab, thank you.

We're going to Derbyshire and we're near shops etc, just don't want to spend all our time cooking.

The frozen 'Cook' range is good for feeding a crowd, eg lasagne, pie, tagines that serve 10. Our local farm shop stocks it as does Budgens
